Community Inspiration meets Professional Organisation

The best inspiration and ideas for events come from the people who live and work in the community. They know what will interest and engage local residents. Great events are driven by great local people.

But it's not easy to deliver a professional and successful event with adequate safety procedures . Volunteers turn out to not be available after all, committee stalwarts don't necessarily have the strength to lift heavy equipment, and no-one wants to write the risk assessment!

At Abingdon Events Partnership we decided that we would take a partnership-led approach to community groups, councils and other event holders in our local area, taking some of the strain away from holding an event. Your inspiration is met by our experience and professionalism and we aim to lighten your load by taking on parts of the event management that are proving physically daunting or you just don't have time for.

What we do

We already run some successful Abingdon Events on behalf of the organisations which own the building or property they are held in. We are able to contribute to their costs by delivering a percentage of event income back to them with little or no workload for them.

Abingdon Traditional Craft Fair

The Abingdon Traditional Craft Fair has been run by members of our team since 2017, originally working under the banner of Mushroom Communications.  With over 50 craftworkers exhibiting over three days the event raises several thousand for the upkeep of the Abbey Buildings each year. Craftworkers come from across the UK to take space at our show.

Local Excellence Market
 

This quarterly market has been run by members of our team since it was started in 2010.  The objective is to provide a fantastic base for local food producers to sell from (local means a 30 mile radius) and to provide a high-quality Saturday market to draw footfall into the town centre.

Abingdon Craft Markets
 

Originally started by Abingdon Town Council, these Spring and Christmas Markets are well known for giving first-time local craftsellers a chance to enter the market at a low cost.
 

Event Management from first ideas to post event meeting and analysis

With experience of Town Council events, the Christmas Extravaganza, ATOM Science Festival and Heritage Festivals under our belt, our team are ready to take on most types of community event.

Supply, erect and remove gazebos (and tables)

 

If you are completely happy to do everything yourself except put up and take down your gazebos - then just ask us to do exactly that!

Marketing including street signage and social media through to ticket sales 

We can use our existing databases, our contact management systems and our knowledge to support you in administration of ticket sales, stall sales or general marketing. We will work with local printers to produce your leaflets, flyers and posters.We also know the best banner sites, poster sites and facebook links to produce inexpensive marketing with good results. We can also make use of our relationships with local magazines to get you a great advertising deal.
